Not on my Pro or VAIO Z.

-more power
-longer battery life
-IPS display
-less weight
-runs cool
the new x220 does the mba better in three items above today for a fact. time for apple to step it up again.

I'm not going for 100% US-made. I'd like something designed and assembled in the US with a US-made frame.
My American-made Bacchetta has a frame that was drawn and welded in Formosa, and some of the parts are Japanese, but it was designed and assembled in the US. The good German bike is another matter, though.

scem, I think in due time the price of Apple's hardware will come down. Take a look at the prices of the Macintosh/Apple product line. The Macintosh II was valued at I think over $6000. The G4/G3 motherboard was worth up to $3500 I think. Now, the Dual 1.25GHz model sells for around $3300, if you don't feel like chugging in THAT much RAM.
My guess is that in a couple of years Apple's PowerMacs will be reduced to near equivalent prices as when the first dual GHz PowerMacs came out, topping out at $3000.
I'm sorry about that double post it won't let me delete them and things went crazy for me there for a couple moments and I accidentally pressed the back and forward arrow.
I feel that Macs are competitively priced now. I just configured a Dell which I feel is the cheapest of the major name brand PC's and also know for there lack of quality. I ended up with a 2Ghz PC no monitor with similar hardware except no firewire and less expansion possibilities in the future because of used up PCI slots etc. for $1,288. I made the comparison to a Dual 867 and modified the Apple config. when I couldn't make the two match any other way. I personally feel that OS X and the whole Mac experience is worth the difference for a computer that will without a doubt whip the pants off that Dell and continue to do it after it the Dell is dead and gone.
I did the same thing with a 2.4Ghz Compaq and it has Firewire and it came up to $1,455. I repeat myself again in everything I said above about the Dual867 being a better deal because of OSX and I still believe it would be faster at most tasks especially multitasking and it still having a longer life without failure.

You're misunderstanding. It's not a cobranded box that says TiVo, that's coming in the future, but DirecTV outsourced their DVR software development to TiVo years ago....

They're working on a true Tivo box that'll support directv, whereas in the past it's just been software they've developed as private label for DirecTV... hence the "renewed partnership" wording.
Their renewed partnership is because there used to be a DirecTivo (which was a dvr separate from the other boxes) that was launched back in 1999 and went through a series of upgrades until 2007.
Their current software found in their boxes is done in house, I know a few people who test it.

I'm expecting both a retail DVD release as well as a downloadable release. I'll personally be getting the DVD for easier install on multiple machines.

You know that DVDs are slow, right? Even this 5400RPM drive is 4x faster than the DVD would be. This is my gray install DVD, which I'm going to replace with Lion once it's out, btw. This works fine with USB sticks/SD cards and the regular Snow Leopard DVD as well, if you need it more often. Just make sure to get an USB stick that is faster than the DVD (~10MB/s).

Seriously? A few MB's of RAM saved is worth over double the price? I'm not bashing Apple here, I love my Mac and I love OS X, but Windows 7 with an antivirus runs a hell of a lot smoother on my iMac than Snow Leopard does. When you take that into account, it pales into insignificance does running an antivirus.
Not to mention that plenty of OS X users now use an antivirus, despite there being no real need to.

I think the iPhone 4's screen is too small and has not increased in size physically since the original iphone launch almost 4 years ago. It's time for a screen size increase, either equivalent to or slightly smaller than HTC's 4.3" behemoth. Apple should go S-Amoled with IPS or OLED which requires no backlight and therefore extends battery life.

Cell phones connect to PagetNet�or whatever name he's assigned his creation�thinking that they're accessing an actual cell phone tower.
When that happens, Paget can listen in to the conversations and/or record them at his leisure. His device�an International Mobile Identity Subscriber catcher�bounces the call to an actual cell phone tower and the user is none the wiser, save for the fact that all inbound calls now go directly to said user's voicemail as the carrier considers the actual phone off-network.
